Preparation: Actors will have three minutes to audition and may choose to present two contrasting monologues or one piece with considerable range. These are Equity Principal Auditions. The producer will run all aspects of the audition. Actors of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Please bring two copies of your headshot/resume with you to the audition.

Synopsis: Mathematical genius Alan Turing was a pioneer in the field of computers and computer science. His work breaking Nazi code during World War II saved countless lives, yet he plummeted into ruin after his secret life was discovered.

Character Descriptions:
Alan Turing: Male, 35-40, an unabashed, unapologetic champion of a pure, abstract mathematics that supersedes concepts of right and wrong.
Mick Ross: Male, 40's-50's, a police detective torn by his duty to investigate and charge Turing for gross indecency.
Christopher Morcom: 17-21, Turing's boyhood friend who may or may not have known Turing was in love with him.
Sara Turing: 60's, Turing's stiff-upper lipped British mother who was oblivious to his sexuality until he was charged with a crime.
Ron Miller: 20's, a tough young man involved in an affair with Turing that would lead to his arrest.
John Brown: Male, 40-50, a government official.
Dillwyn Knox: Male, 60's, Turing's silver-haired, bespectacled, by-the-book wartime superior.
Nikos: 20s, a Greek boy Turing had an encounter with on vacation.
Patricia "Pat" Green: 25-30, Turing's best friend, a brilliant female coworker who was aware of Alan's homosexuality and loved him.
